We have recently bought a house, and from the patio to the garden, there is this staircase.
The problem is that the step depth/height is way too short. What tips do you have on how I can solve this? It’s my first house and I have no experience working with concrete.
PS.
I’m not sure if this is in the right subforum.
If you don't want to remove the old stairs and build a new one in concrete, it might be easiest to build one in wood on top of the old one with the same step height but with more step depth like in the image below where red becomes the new stairs. It might be possible to cast the steps deeper as well, but it would probably be difficult to make it look nice.
Difficult for me to answer. It should be possible to get someone who works with concrete to provide a price estimate. If it's in Västmanland, I can send a tip on a person via PM.
Okay, I understand. It's in Skåne so a bit too long driving time 😅
I guess you have to drive away most of it and then cast a new staircase? It can take quite a few hours..
Yes, if the old one needs to be broken apart. New reinforcement and everything that comes with it, it can certainly end up at 50, if it's going to be done well. But as I said, I haven't calculated, maybe it ends up at 30, depending on the choices you make.
