Material between underfloor heating and laminate flooring?

On my upper floor, I’m planning to install water-based underfloor heating. It will either be Uponor or LK systems. I plan to lay battens and heat distribution plates to place the pipes in. Then I plan to have laminate flooring. Some questions:

1. Do I need a vapor barrier in the floor? I hope and assume no since it is the floor on the upper floor.

2. Can I lay the laminate flooring directly on the battens and heating pipes?

3. If no to the above question, what do you recommend I choose as a substrate under the laminate flooring? I want it to build as little as possible. Chipboard? Floor gypsum?

The reason I'm using battens instead of grooved chipboards is that the grooved chipboards would cost as much as the entire rest of the underfloor heating.

On my upper floor, I am thinking of installing waterborne underfloor heating. It will either be Uponor or LK systems. I am planning to lay out spaced paneling and heat plates where I will lay the loops. Then I plan to have laminate flooring. A few questions:

1. Do I need a vapor barrier in the flooring? I hope and assume no, since it’s the floor on the upper floor.

2. Can I lay the laminate floor directly on the spaced paneling and floor loops?

3. If no to the above question. What do you recommend I choose for underlayment under the laminate floor? I want it to build up as little as possible. Chipboard? Floor gypsum?

Based on your conditions, I would lay at least one layer of floor gypsum, then underlay paper and as thin laminate as possible.

I would not install a vapor barrier.

At home, I first laid 1 layer of floor chipboard, then split chipboards as layer 2 and laid the pipe with sheet metal in between, then floor gypsum, paper, and thin laminate flooring.
