Yes, here comes another thread on the subject. I've looked around here and googled a bit but found a variety of answers.
I plan to lower the ceiling in my cooperative apartment. The ceiling is currently made of concrete, so my idea is to frame it with 45x45 cc max 1200mm and then attach furring strips 28x70 with cc280mm.
But now to the question, how would you choose to attach the 45x45 frames to the ceiling, and how closely would you place the attachment? The room is about 5x3.2m, but I haven't decided yet in which direction the frames should run, lengthwise or crosswise.
I've read about everything from Plug and Screw (which is said to be a risky construction in case of fire) to expansion nails (which are said to be unreliable) and various types of metal brackets which I assume must be attached using one of the other two methods. Has anyone done this before or have other experiences on the subject?

Drill holes in the concrete ceiling, insert Fischer plugs and then screws through 45x45. The screws must be long enough to reach the soft part of the plug. Why should it be a risk construction?
Expander is always a reliable choice in terms of tensile strength and fire resistance. The studs will likely burn up before the expander gives way.
Why 45x45 first? Screw 28x70 first and then attach another crosspiece. According to a friend who did the same operation, he first used a nail plug and in the next he used an expander, which looks like a tube that is cut open.
Just a word of warning, in the last room he did, he drilled straight through a cast iron pipe from a toilet that was embedded, he noticed it when the toilet was flushed :/
Check with the association if there are any blueprints for electrical plumbing antennae or anything that might be in the joists.

The reason for a 45 and then a 28 is that I want to lower the ceiling that far (currently have a 2.70 ceiling) and the spotlights I'm looking at require that space. Plus, I avoid having to order an extender for the fan : )
What length of expansion nails would you recommend for fastening a 45 rule and how closely should they be placed?
It will probably be 4 pieces of 5-meter rules that will hold 18 pieces of 3.2-meter 28x70 sparse panels. Alternatively, 5 pieces of 3.2-meter 45x45 that will hold 12 pieces of 5-meter 28x70. Panels that are to be attached to the sparse panels can be fastened both along or across the sparse panels. So I haven't decided which option it will be yet.
