I'm planning to switch to plasterboard from masonite on a load-bearing wall. And now I see that it's made up of 45x68mm studs. Can you really use that? Now, the house is from '76, so it seems to have handled it. But it seems a bit flimsy.
The problem is also that it's not the same cc-measure, varying from 32cm to 47, so I have to cut the plasterboards to, for example, 98cm.
And since there's such an odd measure on the stud at 68mm, I can't brace it with today's timber at 70mm
Would you have tried to reinforce the wall or let it be? I'm considering doubling up on the plasterboard, which might make it a bit more stable. I can't be bothered to replace every stud.

The rule as such handles it, but glue (and screw) OSB before the drywall so you stabilize the studs sideways. Then it becomes easier to install drywall as it's enough to screw into the OSB.
