As long as it's a few cm, it's enough since Mapei's waterproofing is approved on a flat surface, but with a completely flat surface, there will be problems in the long run as debris will accumulate under the deck...

It's loose, but there's a railing around, so it doesn't move sideways. Otherwise, I would have had to screw it down.
 
What was the solution?

I have a garage roof that does have a slope but has a wooden decking on top. Now it has started leaking into the garage. So I need to solve it somehow, new felt roof, Mapei's products, gummiduk?
