Hello,

I have a bit of a space issue, and the hardware store I shop at for my renovation is closing for vacation today. So I had to buy and transport my drywall home. Is this storage okay for a while?

Best regards,
Rickard

  • A stack of drywall sheets stored under a carport beside a parked car and woodpile, shadow of a person visible on the ground.
This is how gyproc writes
Storage on hard surfaces (asphalt, packed sand, etc.)
• Temporary storage of dry boards under tarpaulin is allowed for a maximum of 2 days (without plastic wrap).
• Plastic-wrapped packages can be stored under tarpaulin for a longer period. Rainwater must not collect under the packages. The tarpaulins must be arranged so that ground moisture can dry out.
Storage on non-hard surfaces, e.g., regular ground
Storage under tarpaulins on non-hard surfaces should be avoided. If it must be done, steps should be taken to protect the packages from ground moisture and contact with the ground.
For storage of more than 1–2 days, the packages must be plastic-wrapped.

Mina stayed outside for a long time last fall under the open sky, but well wrapped in plastic.

As long as no water gets on them, nothing should happen. Someone surely has other experiences...

Hm, better to be safe than sorry I feel,. Will make space in the garage tonight and haul them in there. Thanks for the answers.

As long as they're lying flat and dry, there are no problems. It looks like there's a concrete floor under the roof, so they can stay there.

But I think when you rearrange plasterboard bundles. They should lie evenly and nicely both in length and side, otherwise it looks so messy. Besides this, there is no problem storing as you have now, and it shouldn't rain either.

Well, now they are brought into the garage anyway. There they lie safely regardless of the weather outside ;)

Great daily exercise!
20 slices or however many it might be, becomes 500kg :strong::strong:

Impressive
As heavy as a car...

Yes, starting to feel it today.

Stacked these 2 times, as well as carried in 74 sheets of floor particleboard. Lucky to have had help carrying!

That's the downside of renovating. :worried:

True! But as you wrote, good exercise will come out of it.
