I have a question, what do you think about gluing my homemade post caps on? I don't want to screw them in.
But do you think they will come loose immediately or will they stay there for a while? (Provided no one kicks them)
Attached is a picture of the caps 😉

Nice hats.
Pl 400 I would have used

Normal wood glue doesn't work well, right?

Well. It won't be good since there's end grain in the posts.
But Pl400 works? Damn, ideally I don't want to screw, but maybe I'll have to ..

Pl 400 works, it doesn't get absorbed into the end-grain in the same way.
Sticks like a rock afterwards.

Thank you, then it will be Pl400 👍👍👍

Should the hats be painted?
Secure them with a couple of nails, countersink, and put a small dab of outdoor sealant in the nail holes.
Then paint.
But of course, glue first. For those advocating PL400: Doesn't PU glue work just as well?

Now I have assembled your 7 out of 20 hats
.. We'll see if this holds.

Trimmed dykerts and then a round of Pl400 around.

Then a bunch of blocks on.. what do you think about letting them sit until the evening only??
