How would you make the ceiling above the stove look nicer

Hello! Now we are going to fix up the cottage a bit.
Need help on how to best repair the roof over the stove.

Put up a drywall inside the moldings, and then treat it with something similar to plaster.
Should be quite simple, and provide a uniform appearance to the surfaces there in the ceiling/wall angle.

Attach a plaster mesh to the wooden ceiling (using staples, for example) and plaster in two layers with lime plaster.
