The neighbor has a similar roof with brown boards. It was as rotten as yours after about 30-35 years. He installed colored fiber cement sheets with a kind of wood pattern that turned out great and will never rot or require much maintenance. Maybe an idea.
 
Planning to replace the siding around our garage, which is built on the same principle. Anyone have good tips/pictures on how to do the corners - I don't want to put a trim here on the corner, and I probably can't just meet a bevel siding at the corners.
Someone mentioned putting planhyvlat in the corner???

Use a corner strip made of metal. A corner strip made of metal can fit under the ridge cap. That way, you don't have to miter the corners on the paneling.
 
Okay - could maybe work. 3-5 cm overlap?

Is this what is usually done today?
