Hello!

I installed new interior doors and frames this spring, and in one spot quite a lot of the wall (light concrete, plaster) came loose. Now I'm considering how to fix this in the simplest and most aesthetically pleasing way.

I assume it's not really possible to plaster directly and make it perfect. Especially not above the door where there's quite a bit to fill (up and down).

My first thought was to put panels on the side and one on top, like an inverted U, and then fill with mortar or suitable material. But I'm feeling unsure.

Grateful for any tips. See pictures below.

It usually works well to plaster in places similar to the one above your door.
Reinforce with mesh and make sure it is attached to the wall.

On the side of the door, I would do something similar or combine molding with gypsum cement.

Okay but what makes me uncertain about how it should work is that the plaster should extend about 100mm and then it's going to be plastered upside down :)

How on earth is that going to work? :-?

Maybe it would work to insert a brick lintel above the door and then plaster it?

I would have glued or screwed a frame to the door frame that aligns with the wall, then you can fill the gap with plaster. Before it dries, I would scrape away the plaster in a wedge closest to the wooden frame before it dries and fill the hollow space with latex caulk to avoid cracks nearest the wood.
