How to set up a diagonal brace?

Hi,

I'm going to build a gate for a fence and the gate is sagging, which makes me suspect that I need a diagonal brace.

But how should I attach it?
From which point to which point should it go?

The way I've placed the plank or the other way around? Now it goes from the top by the hinges. Should it go from the bottom on that side instead?

A batten, nar, is mounted at the bottom on the hinge side towards the opposite corner.
So turn the plank over...
As written above, it is best done as a Z with upper and lower battens.

The best result is achieved if the diagonal brace is embedded into the vertical pieces.



Always start from the lower hinge.
