I have a staircase in a house from 1947. It's made of concrete with plaster, I think. The steps have cracked, and the plaster is peeling. How to renovate this?

  • Cracked concrete steps of a 1947 house with peeling render, metal grate at bottom, white railing, and a green door at the top.
  • Cracked concrete steps with visible wear and moss growth near a metal grate and green plants.
  • Concrete stairway with peeling plaster and cracks, part of a 1947 house renovation inquiry. Visible damage on steps and base.
Hello!

I own a house with a similar staircase in the same (or worse condition)
The most rational and economical seems to be, as far as I can understand, to break it away and build a new one, possibly just dig it away if you plan to drain the house with the help of an excavator.

Almost agree with the above post, especially how the lower step looks.
But you can chisel away the loose part, use chemical anchors for reinforcement, and cast new parts.
Sand off all the paint, and use rep 955 on the stairs.
And some plastering on the back.
It will be much cheaper than removing the old and casting a new one.
However, a new one will be nicer, of course.
Alternatively, remove it and replace it with a new one in wood.
