How to renovate concrete (cement?) staircase?
We have a worn-out staircase painted in some tough paint. Now the paint is starting to peel off from the walking surfaces and takes a piece of the concrete (cement?) with it. How do I go about renovating? Scrape off all the loose parts, fill in the holes with what? What kind of paint should I use? Mix gravel into the paint so it doesn't become slippery? Has anyone done something similar and can offer tips?
I don't know I want to start by saying I don't have experience with it myself.
But the last time I read such a thread, the advice was to remove everything loose, fill in with concrete, and then paint with silicate paint. When you repair with concrete, the surface must be wet.

Thank you! 😊👍Farstatjej90 said:

Depends on how big the holes are and if you reach cast iron, but if they are smaller holes, Ardex A46 is nice to work with.
Scrape and sand carefully and repair the holes.
I wouldn't paint, but rather lay an epoxy with stone, or a mass intended for outdoor steps.

Great! Thanks! Can Ardex also be used for repairing the mortar between the mexitegel?anders07 said:
Is there anyone with experience of https://www.duracoat.se/ or similar products?
What is the advantage of Ardex compared to regular ready-mixed concrete?anders07 said:
Quick-drying, very good adhesion, better frost resistance, and easier to work with and smooth out.Farstatjej90 said:
Concrete does adhere, but if moisture gets behind it, frost shattering can occur more easily, and it's a bit more difficult to fill with.
Concrete can absolutely work too!
Not wet, damp works better😉Farstatjej90 said:
