Hi, I have purchased 135 and 90-degree moldings. The 135-degree crown molding will be placed on 1, and the 90-degree crown molding on 2. How do you miter saw both moldings? Does anyone have a good tip on how to do this easily?

Best regards,
Linn

  • Close-up of two wooden molding pieces with different angles, one at 135 degrees and the other at 90 degrees, placed on a textured surface.
  • Ceiling corner with red lines marking 135 and 90-degree angles for placing molding, labeled as 1 and 2.
You want a challenge...

You place both moldings on the side that will be against the ceiling. With the short sides against each other at a 90-degree angle. The same angle they will be against each other.
The short sides then form a rectangle when viewed from above. The diagonal of that is the angle you should cut.

No matter how you start, it will be wrong. Many have tried to explain, but it cannot be explained or understood. Take a 0.5 m piece of each and test until it fits. Then take the real moldings.

Good luck and don't give up!
