How is my house built (slab and floor)?
Hello.
I live in a detached link house built in 1981 in the Stockholm area. The house is built using a "slab on grade" foundation. But what did this construction look like in 1981?
A guess from what little I've seen (haven't taken up any floor) is that on the poured slab there seems to be some form of joists/chipboard or insulation that makes the finished floor about 5-6 cm above the concrete slab. Could this be true?
So what I'm wondering is, what does it likely look like under my parquet floors? I think most rooms originally had vinyl flooring, which is probably still there under the parquet, but then what? Could it be that the vinyl floors lie directly on the concrete slab?
What does it look like in the wet rooms? Is there chipboard between the slab and the tile/vinyl flooring, or is it self-leveled up to the level of the other rooms directly on the concrete slab?
Do the water pipes (Prisol pipes) go all the way in the concrete slab or above it (if there is something between the slab and the floors)?
Feel free to guess/speculate wildly, even better if you think you know.

In our house built in '83, the parquet/carpet is laid directly on the concrete. The parquet has plastic and foam underneath. You should be able to tell if the plastic carpets are laid directly on the concrete by stomping on them a little.
The houses we assembled in the early 80s used two options.
1. Slab with embedded prisolrör chipboard with 10cm glued polystyrene.
2. Slab with prisolrör mounted on top of 5-7 cm sand/dry mortar chipboard with 5cm glued polystyrene.
In wet rooms, they often cast a finish on top of 5cm polystyrene.

Carpet/Parquet
Paper pulp
22mm chipboard
(possibly 0.2mm plastic, I don't quite remember but I think it was there, it could also have been under the styrofoam)
60 mm styrofoam insulation
100 mm concrete slab
300 mm capillary-breaking layer (gravel in some form)
Then the ground in the form of a gravel ridge.
Under the exterior walls and load-bearing internal walls, the concrete slab is thicker.
In the mudroom/laundry/bathroom, there is a layer of fine concrete that creates a slope, and there's either carpet or tiles instead of chipboard. I'm a bit unsure how the insulation looks in these areas. But in these spaces, there is waterborne underfloor heating.
(I can check the drawings if you want more precise details)
