I'm new to the renovation scene but absolutely love it, it's fun to see everything come together.

I have two edges in the room that look awful, pictures can be found below. As you can see, I've patched the uneven areas there but it just cracks. To be completely honest, it looks terrible. Do you have any tips on how I can make this look nice? Maybe a thin trim?

You have the experience, so I'm turning to you :)

Not sure if I've chosen the right forum, but let me know if I should switch (if possible)

More pictures are available if you need them to help me. Once I'm better, it'll be my turn to help haha! :)
Best regards
Happy hobby renovator

What are we looking at? What kind of material is the wall, and similar details need to be described.

Looks like you have a fiberboard on one side and a plasterboard on the other?
Have you used reinforcement tape in the joint?

Hello, it is indeed plaster and fiberboard that meet there. I just plastered straight up and down in the seam, hence the crack I guess.

I would try to apply reinforcing tape and putty the joint further out, just sand away the putty beforehand so it doesn't build up too much :D

You mean I leave the filler that's already there, then I put reinforcement tape over it and keep spreading filler until I get nice rounded corners? (sorry if I sound slightly inexperienced).

I'm thinking that you sand the filler that's in place and then apply the tape and spread the filler a bit further since the tape adds a millimeter.

Of course, you can use a cover strip, that works just fine (y):D Personally, I would probably use filler, though it's a matter of taste :)

I would also probably have applied filler, but with wet room spackle as a base to get a harder foundation before using regular spackle.
