I am moving from an apartment with concrete walls to an apartment with particle board walls. I want to be able to set up the cats' climbing wall, but the distance between the mounting points is shorter than the distance between the studs. How can I set up the climbing wall in a simple way?

  • Wooden hexagonal cat climbing structure with beige platforms and scratching posts, mounted on a green textured wall.
Buy a sheet of plywood at the hardware store that is adjusted to the width and ceiling height. 12-15 mm is sufficient. Cover it in a desired material and screw the climbing frame onto it. Then set it against the desired wall and secure it with a couple of screws into the studs.

If there is particle board behind the plasterboard, the particle board will hold up to screwing.

Will it hold for 5 kg cats to climb around on?

Absolutely. Use screws that are about 70-80 mm into the studs, so you can climb on it yourself.

Thanks, but I think I'll stay on the floor 😀
