Hello,

I am in the process of building a conservatory from Willabgarden (Lean-to roof with glass roof 6030mm x 3825mm) on insulated floor beams where I have 145 mm insulation in the beams. But I would like to have it done correctly.

I plan to enclose all sides and install ventilation so that the air can keep the humidity down.

What I have read about building insulated beams is (from the ground up)
Plastic sheet
Gravel
200mm between plastic sheet and bearer beam.
Bearer beam
Floor beams with Lower basket and insulation (stone wool)
Plastic sheet - moisture/vapor barrier
Chipboard or plywood,
Foam for Wooden floor - Laminate or parquet

A deck is being built around the conservatory so it will be difficult to get in.

My questions are
1. What do you recommend closing off the conservatory with, which can also have/be made with holes for ventilation? A 70m2 deck is being built around the conservatory, but I think of something so that creatures cannot get in.
2. Plastic sheet with gravel, is it needed here? The ground under the conservatory consists of 2/3 hard dry clay soil and 1/3 with drainage to the house on which the conservatory is mounted. Maybe plastic sheet on the clay soil?
3. What do you recommend for insulating the floor?
4. What is best to have as support under the floor, Plywood or Chipboard? I'm also considering the moisture.

Best regards,
Lasse
