Very new to this area, and I'm wondering if I need a sill if I'm going to build on a pier foundation? On a crawl space foundation, I understand that!

Maybe a strange question, but I'm hoping for an answer.

Of course, you should have a sill; otherwise, you have nothing to attach the floor to.

Is a sill the same as a bärlina?

Well, there you go, there was a lot of useful information for a newbie like me... But I thought the sill would be a bit thicker than what was suggested on "svensktra.org" 45*145. I had more in mind 145*145.

Maybe if you're thinking about building a log house , but I don't think it's called "syll" (I believe). Good luck with the construction.
