Hello!
We own a lakeside property with a small peninsula at the far end. To reach the peninsula today, you have to go around through quite challenging terrain... so we'd like to build a footbridge that "cuts across" the water out to the peninsula. (Although it will still run relatively parallel to the land, it will nonetheless be over the water like that.)
The footbridge will be quite long, estimated to be around 30 meters. Does anyone have experience with something similar?
1. Building permit, shore protection exemption, etc... what applies?
2. What is best to drive into the lakebed, thick wooden poles or some form of iron pipes, on which the floor then rests?
3. How far down should they be driven into the bottom? (It is quite a muddy bottom)
4. Who can help with driving poles/iron pipes into the bottom? Where do you turn to?
5. Other things to consider?
Thanks to everyone who can assist with help, feedback, and tips.
