I removed the remnants of two steel pipes for oil filling in the boiler room, and in the process, all the old concrete/cement(?) around the pipes crumbled, so now I have a rectangular hole about 30x15 cm and maybe 30 cm deep.

A rectangular hole in a concrete wall reveals an outdoor view, showing remnants from removed steel pipes, with rough edges and sunlight streaming in.

What is the best way to fill it? Should I fill it completely with concrete at once, or do it in several layers and let it dry in between? Should the concrete be reinforced with, for example, a steel mesh?

The simplest and best solution is probably if you get a piece of Leca block and fix it with B-bruk.

Really good idea. Foam insulation and then plaster. Perfect, then I can seal it right away and do the fine-tuning when there's time.

Thanks for the tip and a quick response!

Yes, you can also use expanding foam, but I didn't have as large a hole as you. ;)

The wall runs in the same direction as the "trusses, so as I understand it, it only supports the upper floor with 3 bedrooms and a bathroom."

Oh, just that little thing...

I think you scrolled a bit too far before you wrote the answer. ;)
You ended up in the next thread.

Seal again with expanding grout?

Hello,
I have removed the oil tank and the incoming pipes; there was ventilation in the facade below in the same hole as the oil pipes. Should I install a new vent and put concrete around it? I think it's good to have continued ventilation as I plan to make a tool room/workshop. The room, 4x4m, where the boiler was has some cracks in the concrete; I was thinking of using Husrep and then painting with Silicate paint from Nordsjö. Is that the right way?

If anyone has similar concerns, I can report that foam with plaster on the surface has lasted for two years without any problems.
