Figure out what should be removed

Hi, I'm going to put up paneling on the ceiling, but I'm drawing a blank or it's been too long since I was in school. :S I can't figure out how to cut the first board to make it equal on the other side, because you don't want a baseboard closest to the wall when you're adding trim. The width of the room the ceiling will cover is 299 cm, and I hope the panel measurements are visible in the pictures. Can someone smarter than me explain how I can keep as much as possible of the "cover board" and make it equal on each side? One more question, is 50mm brad nails enough for the paneling that's 22mm? The nail gun doesn't take longer brad nails.

The first and last board should be 115 mm, meaning that 3 mm of the angled cut will remain on each side, but that will disappear behind the molding.
So: 115 mm + 12 bottom boards (12x120) + 11 top boards (11x120) + 115 mm = 2990 mm.

Does anyone know if 50mm nails are enough, you could possibly also glue a "dutt"?

What type of ceiling do you have to nail into? Plasterboard or wood?

It's framed with 45mm wooden studs

A 50mm nail is more than enough to keep that in place! They bite like crazy those little fellows!
