The stove is finished, just waiting to put the grates in after the chimney sweep has been by :)

True that you don't redo them! And water-based is smart! I wonder if there's a stove that allows you to bypass the water, that would be a good idea so you could light without turning off when the water temperature gets too high :-)
Very nice!
I think I'll aim for a stove with a more protruding front. Otherwise, it looks a bit too much like a 28-inch TV ;)

Your vent grilles on the log, are they to take advantage of the heat that forms in the space around your metal chimney?
I will build and fully prepare for water-jacketed, and then the decision will be made when it's time to order the stove.
I have drainage, heating/return hoses to the stove, and a cold water line run in the slab now.

You don't need to turn off if the temp gets too high if you have a 750l accumulator tank in the garage :) Then you would need to keep burning continuously for a very long time. Also, there is a safety valve that will release if that happens.

Yes. It becomes a bit of a TV-style but it's a functional house so it fits nicely :)

The grilles are really just for the chimney sweep who must be able to inspect. And then it looked best with a pair of those, at the same time maybe it allows for a little circulation :-)
