Epoxy Fireplace ?

Hi, I've been thinking for a while about my stone slabs around the fireplace. Currently, the room has been renovated for 3 years, and they are completely the wrong color for my taste, so the idea is to recolor the existing ones to avoid having to break the entire stove. I've seen some videos from the USA where they pour epoxy on countertops; is it suitable for my project? Is it something I can try myself, or are there companies in Skaraborg that do this?

The likely answer is no.
Without knowing how hot it will get, it's hard to give a better answer, but epoxy and heat don't work well together.
Do I understand correctly that you want to use the epoxyin as "paint" for the stone?

I have only seen clips from the USA where they pour epoxy on countertops and mix in different pigments to create effects, so I guess that's supposed to color the stone. Is there a better approach without replacing the stone?

Without knowing how hot it gets, it's difficult to provide a better answer, but epoxy and heat do not work well together.

I completely agree regarding "plastics" and high heat. However, my guess is that the brown "stone shelf" doesn't get significantly hot during normal burning, but of course, that's something the Original Poster knows best.

I have a fireplace with a similar "mantel" myself and it doesn't get hot at all.

No, it doesn't get hot, maybe just a little lukewarm. I do have decorations in different materials there without any problems.
