Hi

I have demolished part of a wall made of leca blocks. So now I have a broken surface where the wall ends. Does anyone have any good tips on how to make an end in this case? It is from floor to ceiling 3m. the wall is 90mm thick.

Maybe attach a frame on the outside? If so, what kind? How/should it be attached to the leca blocks?

Grateful for tips!

Martin

What is the surface coating on the wall that you have opened? I would probably plaster the finish myself and insert steel corners to withstand some damage.

it is polished, the thing is that it is very uneven where it is broken
when parts of the wall were demolished, some blocks came along, so it differs by 10 cm in some places.
I am innocent of the clumsy demolition :)

In that case, I would either cut the uneven edge to make it straight and then plaster it, or first build it up to be even and then plaster it. The uneven edge almost certainly needs to be tidied up because if you place trim, it might look a bit odd to have 15cm wide strips along the wall to hide the uneven part.

Yes, I will plaster the wall and embed leca where needed.

What I'm wondering is if and what one should put on the "end," like a stud or steel edges, to get a straight and nice finish. What should I use?

I did exactly the same thing as you and chose to first level the edge and then set a rule which I can later attach a finishing list to - it has worked great for me, so that's my tip.

Hi!

How did you attach the bracket in the leca? Just drill and plug?
Did you encounter anything else that I should keep in mind?

Thanks :)

I drilled and properly inserted a plug before fastening the rule - there were no problems at all. Just make sure the finish is even :)
