Hello,

I am in the process of taking down an interior wall consisting of plasterboards and metal studs and everything has gone fine until I try to remove the outermost studs that are attached to the adjoining concrete wall with some form of expansion nails.
How do I remove these nails? They seem to be some form of hard metal since I haven't even managed to drill them out.
Any tips?

Photograph it. Standard expansion nails have Ph grooves for unscrewing. It will be easier if we see what you have. Otherwise, an angle grinder will fix most things.

Isn't it a nail shot with a nail gun, but most things can usually be arranged with a ko ben. Unscrewing nail plugs might work sometimes but usually not.

A close-up of a screw head on a damaged wall, with visible drill marks around it. The screw head appears smooth.

This is what it looks like, what may be mistaken for a bit's trace is me trying to drill off the head without success. It actually has a completely smooth head.

Remove with the angle grinder. Sometimes the crowbar works, but not always.

Angle grinder.

Feels a bit dangerous to use an angle grinder indoors. But maybe it will have to be that anyway.

Strange. It does look like it should be fine to drill. It is significantly nicer than an angle grinder, so it might be worth another try, with a good drill bit.

Wet towel over the grinder works wonders. Catches everything. You shouldn't cut into the dust-creating concrete! Just a little steel.

Take a chisel and knock off the nail doesn't take many minutes and is not flammable.

Some are so hard, that it is pointless.

If they are hard like nail guns for example, it's easy but you need something substantial to hit with, a carpenter's hammer won't do.

I thought I would tell you how it went.
Since I wasn't comfortable using an angle grinder indoors (never used an angle grinder before), I took the detour of drilling up the concrete around the nails just enough to be able to cut them with bolt cutters.
Quite cumbersome and I have some spackling work ahead of me, but the result should at least be good.
But man, there are some really hard nails on the market...
