I am renovating the old hobby room in the basement and now I am going to install the ceiling.
I wonder, is there any standard practice for how it should be installed?
Or do you just install it in a way that you think looks best?

I'm planning to buy this ceiling at Byggmax, so I don't have to paint/fill etc.:

Here is a drawing of the renovated room. Should it be installed according to option 1 or option 2?
Blueprint of a basement renovation showing room layout with numbered options for ceiling installation in a hobby room.

Personally, I feel that option 1 is the best. Then it aligns with the length of the house.

Anyone with any thoughts/ideas on this?

How is the flooring?
Light entry?
What does it look like in the adjacent rooms?

A wall-to-wall carpet will be installed in this room, so there is no flooring to consider.
There is a small basement window at the top right if you look at the blueprint, where it says s1-100.

No other rooms downstairs have been renovated yet. This is the first one.
The room next door will be renovated a bit later.

Personally, I like it when the floor and ceiling are aligned in the same direction.
So take a round and think about how the other rooms should be renovated.
Then, as you write, option 1 would probably be the best. But how will it be if the floor and ceiling are aligned that way in "Hobby"?

Hobby can be adjusted according to the remaining as nothing has been done there yet.
I will go with option 1, so it should be fine. ;)
Thanks for the response.
