Are you sure you want it that dark then? It looked very blotchy everywhere in my opinion. I would definitely switch to either Bona that nino recommended or Osmos tinted hard wax oil.

And about patchiness, that's true, since wood is living, I think it's difficult to get all pieces to absorb equally and achieve exactly the same shade.
The manufacturer also recommends using a machine to apply it, which I haven't done. I might sand the edges, test treating the edges, and then let it dry to apply another layer of color, but with a machine.
Today, I called around to find someone who can sand where we need to pigment. It was much harder than I expected; I got in touch with a guy, but he couldn't do it until after the summer... so I had to make a few more calls... I think it was call number 5 who could sand them!!!
It's completely crazy, it seems there's a shortage in that profession. He's supposed to come and take a look next week, so we'll see what he says.
