Please upload a picture of how dark you have in mind. I probably wouldn't make it black on a new floor. Dark herringbone floors I think are really nice even though we chose not to do it ourselves. I can highly recommend Osmo's products. You first stain with a pigmented hard wax oil and then apply the final layer with a regular matte Osmo hard wax oil original.

charcoal is the one I have at home... it's hard to get a picture of how it's going to look... I don't want it too dark either... I have quite dark floors now, adjacent to the room where the herringbone is...

I didn't like the top one, too brown. The bottom one might be cool, but it depends on the surface. It suits best in a really grand apartment with a somewhat minimalistic style otherwise. However, it doesn't highlight the floor's pattern very well.

It's a dining room. So the only things that will be there are a table, chairs, and a cabinet.

It's the same color in these pictures, and I prefer the last picture over the first. You don't want a black floor, so all the pattern disappears... This is hard

got treated... it didn't turn out 100 as I had planned, since the agent didn't really seep into the skirting boards and the chipboard, but on the floor itself it turned out well... it didn't become too dark as I was initially afraid of...

I don't think I will redo it... not now anyway. I'll post a picture tomorrow, when it's lighter, and it has dried a bit, I have some pictures on my phone now, but since it was just done, it gives a misleading picture.

Here come the pictures I promised, I'm not happy with the listbanden and the flisen have to
sand it again, borrowed a machine, and will try sanding, never done it before😖 so it will be exciting. Then treat again where I have sanded.

Edit: how striped it looks in the pictures, it doesn't look like that... Strange, maybe it's the light that's deceiving

Started sanding a little... But I've already run into some trouble since the sander doesn't want to reach all the way to the trim, as you can see in the picture. Thinking you can trick the eye a little, if you make a somewhat straight edge in line with the trim. Not sure what could be causing this, uneven floor maybe, but it should be better than it seems if that’s the problem. If this doesn't work out either, I will sand the whole floor again, but with another company. And hope that the same thing doesn't happen again.

That's correct.
It's a 2-component that I applied with a steel spatula, and then wiped off with a cloth.

You're supposed to use a polishing machine or similar. But the guy I bought both the floor and stain from said that since my room is small, it works just as well to do it this way.

Ok, I use an oil-based stain from Bona, where you have a long time to work and there is little risk of overlapping. Always use a polishing machine, both for laying and polishing.

You should probably have had a Rotex 150 for edge sanding.

Hope you manage to fix it anyway, it's unfortunate that it turned out this way now when you finally got the laying right.
