Hi, I'm looking at Moelven's wood app. I'm not sure what is meant by "utkragning" and "fri spännvidd." I know what span is, but "free span"?
My house is 8m wide on the outside and the walls are 350 thick. 7.4m inside.
Can someone explain what needs to be entered?

Cantilever is how far you want the beam to extend past the last support, an overhang in other words.
The free span is the measurement between the supports. So if the house is 8 meters wide on the outside, you must subtract the thickness of the walls from this measurement.

34 mm is the deflection that occurs under maximum load. According to the standard, the maximum load is calculated based on a scenario that occurs once every 50 years. So, in normal usage, the deflection will not be that much.
Thank you for the explanation! I'll aim for that dimension. The price doubles if I go for the dimension that gives an 8mm deflection.huggan said:
