I have a window in the bedroom, about 80x50, that we don't use. Now I want to renovate and would prefer a wall instead of a window. At the same time, I don't want to completely remove the window as it would be an unnecessarily large project, but instead, cover it from the inside with boards and wallpaper. How do I avoid problems with possible cold and moisture? According to ChatGPT, you should insulate and then cover completely with plastic, then apply the board material. I would like to double-check with the experts if it is that simple or if additional measures are required!
If you want it to be dark from the outside so the insulation isn't visible, it sounds like board material or paper isn't good against the pane from the inside (organic), can you use, for example, dark-painted gypsum, or do you have other suggestions?

Hello and welcome to Byggahus
I think it is easy to plaster over a window or a doorway and then redecorate the room, but it may be significantly more difficult to get out of the room in an emergency if the escape route is blocked.

Then remove the window moldings and cover the unnecessary window opening with a sheet before wallpapering; you can leave both the window and the roller blind in place and can add some insulation if you wish.
