Hello!

We are considering getting help to remove two arches (one narrow and one wide), which will be replaced by two rectangular openings. No doors will be installed, but I thought it would be nice to have a frame in the opening. The house was built in 1926, and for the thick wall (about 30 cm), I want a frame that is not completely smooth/straight, but rather a bit narrower in the middle and, so to speak, goes in stages toward the middle of the arch to give a softer impression.
It shouldn't be too difficult to craft a frame, right?
Does anyone know of a description online or have tips on literature?
The reason for my inexperienced question is that I am completely new to carpentry.

Hello, an easy way is to work with ready-made foder, maybe place two 120x15 towards the edges, then another two on these that are a bit inside, then finish with a dito in the middle, a very simple way to do it, you can experiment with different distances in the construction.

Thanks for the response, I hadn't thought of that option. It might turn out quite nice depending on what you find.
