Hello,
I have built a horizontal fence, see attached image.

I also want to build a double gate according to the image.

My questions are as follows:

- How do I reinforce it on the backside to make it stable and with what dimension of lumber? The horizontal boards are 28*145.
Can I also use them for reinforcement?
I understand I should have 2 on the short side, but how do I solve this most neatly with the cross-bar?

- Tips on how to assemble it easily to get a straight and neat line between the gates.

I'm not entirely 100% sure that I like the straight line between the fence and the gate. You can barely see that it's a gate? I think gates should stand out a bit and be inviting.

I would have probably chosen a smaller dimension and maybe aimed for four boards in height. Then you don't need to go big on the dimensions of the framework either.

Just my opinion :)

Sounds interesting, your suggestion. What dimension did you use? I was thinking about the thickness; I have 28 on the horizontal fence. Can it be narrower? Just so the gate doesn't feel thin compared to the fence.
Also, what dimension of studs should one use that would work?

Another thought is to have vertical, does that work?

A gate with vertical bars can definitely look nice!

On this one, it seems to be 95*95 posts, so what could the gate itself consist of then? 28*70?

This one is a simpler variant that can be modified a bit as you like. Easy to build but you can see that it’s an entrance.

Here you have a good construction guide for various gates (including one like the above but concave)
