Beginner question about oil-hardened board
I'm working on a playhouse and according to the plans, there should be oil-hardened board on top of the sill frame and then floorboards. My (stupid) question is simply which way the board should face? My thought is that the shiny surface should face downwards towards the ground to protect against moisture from below.
Right or wrong?

OK, then we have three votes for the blank side against the ground and one vote for the blank side facing up
I will go with the blank side down unless I receive a very good explanation as to why protection is needed upwards but not downwards. The moisture issues should, as mentioned, come from below.

Ha ha, strange that this is supposed to be such "rocket science". I have now also asked two employees at Byggmax. One doesn't know and one "thinks it sounds logical" with my guess that the shiny side should be down.
