Hello,
I have received a new gate and iron strike plate.
How do you install it in the existing holes on my granite posts?
Is there any adhesive that can be placed in the holes to insert a bolt?

Chemical anchors work well but become expensive per hole since you need special brushes and a blow-out pump to ensure the compound sets properly; the hole must be completely dust-free. If you can ensure this by other means, it's a good solution. Otherwise, regular expansion bolts also work excellently (just make sure they are hot-dip galvanized).

What's wrong with a straw? Preferably a bendy straw so you don't get dust in your face.
The hole must also be brushed internally with a wire brush to loosen all loose material. Read the manufacturer's instructions for how many times to brush and blow. See the following videos from Würth and Essve:Fred vom Jupiter said:

But maybe it's not as important with Biltema's stuff...Helioz said:The hole must also be brushed with a wire brush internally so that all loose material is removed. Read the manufacturer's instructions for how many times to brush and blow. See the following videos from Würth and Essve:

I would also go for some form of expansion bolt.

Sticky cloth, doesn't that work? Feels like it should be slightly better than compressed air. Simpler and cheaper too if you don't have a compressor
But of course, you can always buy canned air at biltema if you're there anyway.
