Skåne core thuja might work well for windows and doors, as well as outdoor furniture?
The climate here is suitable for cultivating fairly thick thuja. Hm, 🤔 thuja plantation?

Saw this just now and it seems really significant in the context. Was quarter-sawn lumber generally available once upon a time? How long ago was that?
I don't know if it was that common back then either, but the advantage is that you get boards and planks with the annual rings across rather than along. This means that the lumber warps less. In the past, there were a lot of smaller local sawmills, and there was more variety. Try to find such a smaller local sawmill, and it's not impossible they could arrange it. It becomes a bit more expensive since they need to rotate the log a few times.

Then you'll probably have to build the staircase customized for the railing...

I'm better at cutting straight beams than building stairs...

Ironically, there are particularly high demands for wood used in airplanes. No twisted planks there.

Yeah, I know, but a little irony doesn't hurt. Hopefully, no one is buying wood for an airplane at Byggmax or similar stores.
