going to build with loose timber. going to nail the walls on the floor joists.

has anyone laid rough boards on the joists first and then made the walls on top of that? The thought occurred to me as it avoids stepping through or moving around a lot of sheets and, most importantly, avoids all the small wood pieces and sawdust from raining down into the crawl space. don't want that there. this, of course, requires carefully covering with tarps and that it means insulation from underneath.

anyone with opinions?

Before you have put up the walls, there are quite a few things that need to go into the floor that you can't install yet (electricity, water, etc.), so it might be a bit cumbersome to lay the floor first....

Isn't it just a matter of throwing out boards to walk on and the problem is solved?
