Hello!
This summer, my partner and I are considering building a glass-enclosed sunroom. The floor area we plan to build on is 5600 x 4000 = 22.4 sqm.
After speaking with various carpenters and receiving a whole range of suggestions on how it should look, we have now decided on a pillar foundation with a wooden frame. This choice is because we live in a townhouse with limited access for a truck with concrete, and we like wood. (Feels warmer somehow)
The problem now is how to set up the beams, what dimensions the beams should have, and the distance between the pillars?
Is there any regulation where we can find this?
Currently, we have about 20 cm up to the patio door, is this enough or should it be dug deeper? (preferably it should be insulated)
One of the carpenters talked about placing "crosses" in the frame to strengthen the whole structure. I just stood there puzzled because I hadn't heard of it before.
Appreciate any help I can get.
Best regards,
Eklundh
