Hello everyone, I have new windows in the house...
Unfortunately, the windows don't have any casing grooves, and now I need to install trim. It strikes me that it will be tricky to make this look nice since the inside wall is, of course, not completely straight.

Does anyone have a good tip for how I can "align" the trim with the wall? So that the window moldings look nice when they are in place...

Do you mean that the side of the window opening is crooked? I usually use wooden dowels and dowel markers in that case. I usually let the back of the reveal line up with the frame, then it's just a matter of wedging a couple of blocks for the reveal to rest against, drill the reveal, insert the dowel markers, and press the reveal against the support blocks. Then you'll get good marks for drilling the dowels into the frame.

That was a good trick.

However, I'm thinking about the wall at the edge of the reveal, since I can't "take out" irregularities along the wall using the lining groove. I can't push the reveal into the lining groove more at the top compared to the bottom of the window, which means I have to saw the reveal, for example, 5 mm narrower at the top than at the bottom. I have some ideas on how to do that with one-meter-long reveals, but here I have, for instance, a balcony door that "suffers" from a 5 mm difference between the top and bottom.

Plunge saw is perfect for that. Alternatively, a circular saw and a straight board as a stop.
