The windows are installed, and chipboard and gypsum are on the wall, and it's time for window reveals.

How is it usually done?

Do you buy MDF and cut it yourself, or are there ready-made pieces that fit?

If it is available? Ask your window supplier.
Otherwise, mdf is a good alternative.

Window returns are available in standard sizes of 70, 96, and 121 if I remember correctly... Made from "grymt" fine MDF, lacquered and ready to glue in place :-)

I am using white shelves 20 x 300 x 2480 mm. Costs only 59:-/each at Cheapy. :D

Hi The carpenters made a frame of high-quality snickeribrädor that were screwed in place, we just clear coat them, it's stable and nice // Goerana

We have MDF with a small bead milled into the edge. Then they are painted.

MDF has worked very well for us, relatively easy to work with and moves minimally.
We didn't have much to choose from other than solid wood (snickarskivor), but it moves more and the risk of cracks in connection to windows and window sills is greater.

But how should you attach the damn thing then? Do you just glue on the thin short side, like 20 mm, or do you extend with spacers and glue on the entire flat side......

Extend with masinote blocks and then glue with hot glue and mounting glue..... Brilliant.... Like mom has sent, it makes you tear up how good it becomes :-)

Shim out with screws. For example, chipboard or drywall screws. Easy to adjust.
Then just screw the board in place, putty, and paint.
Gluing against the screws might also work fine.

How is it easiest to fasten in aerated concrete? Nail or screw? I am going to put trim around my new exterior door. The problem is that there was an old frame with double doors before (one that opened out and one that opened in), so it will be a trim that is 130mm. The wall where the trim is to be attached is very uneven. Any good tips along the way???
