Hello,

We are in the process of building a stone house in aerated concrete through a full contract. Completely ignorant about how a construction works, but have a well-informed father-in-law who highlighted the issue below.

We recently visited the construction site and saw 3 window sections with props installed. The remaining openings had beams mounted above them.
I got a strong uneasy feeling about this since these three sections are the larger openings for doors and windows (There are equally large sections in other parts of the house that have beams) in the same place. Are they trying to cut corners, or is this another approved way to build?

Thanks!

Here it comes

  • A partially constructed building wall made of concrete blocks, with visible openings for windows or doors, and construction materials on the ground.

Not my specialty, but have they embedded reinforcement and made their own beams?

We don't know yet, waiting for a response from the builder.

But you're the contractor, right? ;)

Well, you guys are the builders, right? ;)
Yes, indeed... Thanks for the reminder, time to make some demands;)

How did it go with this? I assume/guess that they had reinforced the beam? Do you know how it has been reinforced? Is it on the long side where the pariet is and is it a 1 or 1.5 story house?
