I have read the "lathunden" about constructions and span, timber, snow zones, etc.

Then I found this digital builder but it says it's not possible? Where is the construction failing?

I have also tried the section in the builder where you build with walls and tried having a central beam with 2-4 columns but still a no.

I want to build an attefallshus and was thinking of outer dimensions 3600x4800mm, everything divisible by 600mm for simplicity, etc. I'm thinking about a sloped roof with about a 5-10 degree pitch to maximize roof height. It will stand on a pillar foundation.

Can someone guide me?

Eternally grateful!

  • Digital builder interface showing a construction plan with dimensions for a free-standing carport, including five posts and a roof pitch of 10 degrees.
  • Diagram of a wooden structure with labeled dimensions and options for load-bearing calculations, showing an issue with selected materials not meeting requirements.
It may be a combination of incorrectly chosen dimensions and bugs in the calculation program. What is the snow zone?

It is snow zone 3.5, just right on the border to snow zone 3.

I hope it's a bug, otherwise, I don't know what to do, I think it should be possible to build the entire frame from construction timber in sizes available at regular construction retailers.

The roof beams need to be made of glulam in that snow zone. Suggested 42x270 mm at c/c 600 mm. If every other roof beam is placed directly over a stud and the others are placed in the middle of the edge beam, then 45x170 C 24 is sufficient. The program can't keep up with that.
