What did we do wrong? We have built stairs and walls in leca that we have plastered. The top stones are made of planed Öland stone (some are bumpy underneath, some smooth) we used Gullex B plaster and mortar to attach them. They didn't stick, the mortar remains on the leca but the stone slab comes loose. It was damp outside and the stones were clean, what did we do wrong and what do we do now?

There are instructions on how to lay slate - and it might be the same with limestone...
Moisten the surface. Then mix soil-moist mortar in the proportions of 1 part cement, 3 parts 0-4 sand. Spread the mortar, and then apply some strings of cement slurry to make the surface more moist. Lay the stones and tamp them with a rubber mallet.

To achieve a good result, I still recommend that you contact a stone wholesaler such as apsten www.apsten.se
