Have a floor that we are going to tear out, level, and lay new. But I'm not quite sure which direction to go in terms of insulation. Today, there's sawdust directly on a concrete slab, under which you can see where it has cracked that there is a thicker layer of gravel/rock crush.

The house is from 1907 and has a crawl space foundation, this is the first floor we have opened up.

Should one frame anew and make a subfloor or should one use for example leca lightweight aggregate 12/20K up to the bottom edge of the new joists and then mineral wool between the joists? Or am I completely off course?
