I don't think there are many nice skirting boards to choose from. I'm going to install new white ones throughout the upper floor. What skirting boards do you have in your home?

Karrock
Not "allmoge" anyway. It's so thick that it's hard to fit against the door casing ;)

Straight, smooth 12x56.

It depends on what style you want.

12 56

What type of house is it? Year of construction?

We have specially planed moldings and casings, but I would never install the equivalent in a house built after, say, 1915.

Downstairs, I have these allmoge baseboards. Is it strange to have different baseboards on different floors?

  • White allmoge skirting board with detailed molding against a textured white wall above a wooden floor.
More strange that it is embodied when it doesn't need to be against the straight edge.

Nah, you have too thin a lining so it would have become awkward even without it. Sorry for the off

Probably no one but you will think about it.

We have replaced the baseboards with planed 32x15.
The baseboards are treated with Herdins white varnish.
It was simple and suits our floor.

Haha, this thread actually made me go through the house and realize we have a total of 10 different baseboards… chosen depending on aesthetics or functionality (y):D

In our living room, we have 3 different variants, for example:surprised: (white cable conduit under the TV, high traditional against the arch wall to the dining room, and an original teak strip by the brick fireplace)
Tall white skirting board with a silver cable duct against a beige textured wall on a wooden floor. White high molding skirting board against a beige wall and wooden floor, illustrating diverse baseboard styles in a home renovation context. Corner of a living room with a brick fireplace, wood floor, and original teak baseboard. A black speaker is placed beside the fireplace.
Then high white traditional in the dining room, low white in the hallway, natural traditional in our bedroom, and plain white in the kitchen (the same in the kid's room).
White baseboard against a beige wall with wooden flooring. Close-up of a white allmoge baseboard on a wooden floor. Radiator above a wooden teak skirting board on wooden flooring, with a green wall section visible between them. A white baseboard against a patterned wallpaper with a wooden floor.
Finally, ventilated wooden baseboards in the basement hallway, cable conduits in the theater room (drilled for both ventilation, easy wiring, and cozy lighting with LED strip), and tiled baseboards in the laundry room and sauna/relaxation room:cool:
A small knight statue in metal armor with a red chest piece stands on a brown wooden floor corner, near a wall with white baseboards. Corner of a room with stone-textured wall, red carpet, white baseboard with cable holes, and a small device mounted on the wall. A textured dark stone wall corner in a room with a red carpeted floor and a visible part of a speaker.

It is mitered 90 degrees against a small piece that is also mitered. It looks strange anyway. A skurkloss would have done the trick there.
