Which direction is chipboard flooring installed?
Okay go for it.
The boards smell a bit and I have developed a runny nose from having 25 chipboards stacked in the living room. I really hope it's something that will dissipate after a few days - otherwise, I won't be able to be in the new living room.
Should one investigate if they've gotten hold of some strange type? Novopan shouldn't be anything unusual, right?

How did it go with your Novopan flooring? Went and picked up 40 m2 yesterday, but the boards smelled so strongly of mold that I had to return them. They're apparently made from demolition wood and old shipping pallets. Contacted support at Novopan, and they said the chip is heated so all mold spores are dead, but the odor can remain. Really unpleasant.
I don't know if it's the floor or my newly purchased sofa causing the issue, but I had trouble staying in the room during the summer/early fall....but after daily airing, it has decreased, and now I don't notice it at all, even though we're into the winter season with closed patio doors/windows.V Vera Reno said:Hi.

I work at a construction supply store that sells these boards and to date, I've never had anyone who has had a problem with them smelling. I'm not saying it never happened because not everyone speaks up. But as I have many builders buying from us, I am quite sure they would have told us if it had been a problem. Regarding moisture/mold, it feels like it's a problem the retailer has had with storage.
