I am going to place an outdoor jacuzzi on the ground. I want some foam board underneath partly for insulation but also to level it out.

The jacuzzi is approximately 2x2m and will weigh maybe 1.5 tons? Without water 250kg.

Is eps s80 enough, or should I go for s100 or even xps?

My 2x2 hot tub weighs around 1900kg when filled with water, probably a bit more if you overfill beyond the "nominal" fill level.

I went with XPS. It's better at handling being stood on, etc., without breaking.

I chose it because the hot tub supplier recommended it. It's probably a bit of overkill in terms of load capacity.

Ok, there's really no price difference, so maybe it's easiest to just go with xps

EPS80 can handle 28kg/dm2 under long-term load with 3% deformation over 50 years. This means that EPS80 can bear approximately 11 tons of long-term load on an area of 2x2m.

In other words, the load is not a reason to choose XPS.

But despite this, there are footprints when walking on S80, so it is extremely sensitive to point loads. S100 is quite a bit tougher but of course not close to XPS.

Yes, but you probably weigh much more than 28 kg.
