I'm going to install Byggmax baspanel. Where should I nail? One or two nails in each stud? I'm going to have it vertical.

  • Wooden tongue and groove panel, ideal for vertical installations, questioning optimal nailing spots and quantity per stud for secure assembly.
I would like to say two nails, one to the right and one to the left of the grooves on the back, on the outer edge that is, but not on the rebate.

Two nails in width so that the board does not twist or warp when it dries.

Then there is a risk of cracks over time, right? I read somewhere that you can nail according to the picture, so the wood can move. Which is best? It can be added that the total width of the boards is 120

  • Close-up of wooden boards with a red arrow indicating suggested nailing position to allow wood movement. Total board width is 120.
Don't dare to contradict you, I know that right now together with a carpenter, I'm nailing double tongue and groove as I said. It is tongue and grooved, yours is shiplapped, whether that has any significance I don't know, you'll have to hope someone who knows 100% for sure writes an answer...
