Where can you buy Mexican bricks abroad?
Hello,
I need white, round-cut Mexi-brick for a garage that will be built in the same style as the villa. Swedish Yxhult went bankrupt a few years ago.
All building suppliers are using Danish Kalsalux, which seems to be a good alternative. But I was shocked when they mentioned the price, about 11:- / brick. This results in a square meter price of about 600:-. I can't believe that Danes and Germans pay those amounts. Mexi-brick seems to be a very common building material down on the continent.
Does anyone have tips on where to buy white, round-cut Mexi-brick cheaper, in Denmark or Germany? Or is there any Swedish building supplier that sells Mexi-brick at reasonable prices?

Not really sure, but you could look for second-hand. Quite a few people are now getting rid of mexitegel facades. I have a couple of friends who are about to get rid of a few hundred square meters, though I'm doubtful if it's round cut. I think you could get that facade for free as long as you take it down yourself.

A neighbor I spoke with had bought mexi bricks for 4 SEK each. I don't know where, but it's definitely worth checking out. Somewhere in Germany, anyway. But check Poland too, there are some threads if you search here.
Stena-line has some info about buying building materials in Poland. Good luck.
