I am wondering about something.

I have an old house from the 1940s and am renovating a room on the upper floor. The ceiling gypsum has been torn down, so what remains in the ceiling are tongued wooden planks, and on the other side, there is insulation and an attic.

The plan for the ceiling is as follows:

  1. Tongued wooden planks (keep)
  2. Plastic
  3. Battens
  4. Ceiling gypsum
But where should the electricity be installed? Should I have the electricity installed before applying the plastic so that the flexible conduits are in the space between the planks and the plastic, or afterward so that the conduits are between the plastic and the gypsum?

As I have learned, you should always try to place the electrical wiring on the inside of the plastic (facing into the room) to have as few penetrations as possible where moisture can leak out.
 
I agree. I would have placed plastic against the tongue and groove planks, then called in the electrician, and afterwards installed the lath and plasterboard. You can almost be sure that the electrical installation will need to "cross" the lath in some places, and if the electricians have to cut or trace in already installed lath, the installation will take longer (=more expensive for you), and you also risk the electrician accidentally making a hole in the plastic when tracing and cutting.

Is the ceiling straight then?
Otherwise, maybe you should straighten it up? Then the battens will be secured and the electrician can run the conduit there...

Levels, squares, and folding rulers must have been missing from the toolbox when my house was built. EVERYTHING is crooked, and it's obviously not "evenly" crooked, but it's crooked in different dimensions at the same time and tilts, bulges, and twists in different directions.

I have leveled the floor and probably won't bother to straighten the rest, if it's even possible...

If parts of the room didn't have slanted ceilings, I might have considered straightening the ceiling, but the slanted ceiling scares me.

Furthermore, the ceiling height is low. The height from the floorboards to the tongue and groove in the ceiling is only about 235 cm. A straightening of the ceiling, with the resulting lowering, complicates things with the windows and doors, as they are placed close to the slanted ceiling.

So I'll settle with a straight and smooth floor and call the rest that is crooked "charm."

But just out of pure curiosity, how would I go about straightening the ceiling?

I've done it like this:

either a rotating laser in the middle of the room, or a cross laser in a corner.
Measure and mark out a height along the walls, start for example 28mm below the lowest spot (to have 28*70 as sparse)
shim down, use masonite pieces, board pieces, etc., to the right height and attach furthest out towards the walls
measure from sparse down to the laser beam, attach the sparse either with shims or with perforated strap

out at the sloped roof I probably did roughly the same.

Not too difficult if I remember correctly... The reason I did it was that I first screwed double 15mm fireproof gypsum in the ceiling...
I have about 150sqm left :)

I've framed an apartment like this, but then I first attached 45*45 maybe at cc1200, and hung them with perforated straps, then sparse at the correct cc measurement.
